Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults
We are so grateful this year to have four adults and two children who are going through the process. Jason Oswald, Brian Palkki, Amy Trees-Palkki, Sylina Palkki, Toby Palkki, and Caroline Prisk. Since early Fall, these individuals have been hard at work attending class on Thursday nights and learning different aspects of the Catholic faith.
On the First Sunday of Lent, March 5th, they along with the RCIA team, Theresa Slein, Janie Humphrey, Mike Eckert, and father Dave Timmerman, will travel to St. John the Baptist parish in Waunakee to participate in the Diocesan celebration of the Rite of Election with Bishop Morlino. From that day forward, they will be referred to as “the elect” because they are joining together in asking for and aspiring to receive the three sacraments of Christ, Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist, as well as the gifts of the Holy Spirit. These three sacraments will be celebrated on Holy Saturday night.
