Youth Formation (Grades 1-5)
All Youth Formation is held at St. Joseph’s from September through May on Wednesday afternoons from 3:30 to 4:30. The general rule of thumb is if there is school, there is Faith Formation. Our class schedule will be issued in paper on the 1st day of class and in an August Flocknote.
Children from Community Elementary primarily walk over and get to enjoy snacks and recess until they go to their graded classrooms. Children from Yahara are driven over by their parents; if they arrive before 3:25, they also participate in snack and recess in the church basement.
Monthly newsletters will be sent home with students on the 1st Wednesday of each month of class. Please read that newsletter for updates and notes for our programs. You can find a digital version of our newsletters here.
Registration information is sent via Flocknote and Facebook post several times during summer. We use Google Forms for registration, please visit the Formation Registration Page to register. Graded Youth Formation is only offered in-person. There is no homeschool-style Youth Formation being offered.
2022-2023 Annual Registration Fees for students Grades 1-9 are $60 each, maximum for a registered family is $120. Parents who join our Family, Youth, or Teen Catechist team will have their family’s annual registration fees waived.
Sacramental Preparation for Youth
First Reconciliation & Eucharist – Students in 2nd grade and older (who have completed at least 1 full year of religious education class) will work on the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist at home, with their families. Orientation meetings with follow-up meetings are held throughout the year. There is an additional cost for these two sacraments, which is currently $40. See the Reconciliation and First Holy Communion pages for more information on these sacraments.
