This commission seeks the active participation of those interested in or those already involved in areas of service, advocacy, justice, education and improvement of people's lives.  It addresses issues relating to justice, peace, hunger and homelessness on local, national and international levels, in order to promote the appropriate Christian action of people within the parish.

Food Drive
to Benefit the Edgerton Community
Your non-perishable food donations can be placed in the baskets in the Vestibule.  This food drive is ongoing and will be distributed by the Edgerton Community Outreach Center. Items most needed are canned meats, prepared dinners, peanut butter, cereals and paper products.

At the Parish Level, Saint Joseph's addresses the issues of visiting the homes of the sick, homebound and dying as well as visiting area hospitals and nursing homes.  The Channelers are a parish organization that has several people who are available to help meet the special needs of our parishioners; i.e. transportation to the doctor's; babysitting; shopping; meal preparation, visits to the library, and much more.  To request assistance or to be come a Channeler Volunteer, you can contact the parish office at 884-3038.

On a Community Level Saint Joseph's  parishioners, programs and organizations  support the Edgerton Food Pantry, Meals-on-Wheels, and the Edgerton Community Outreach Center.  Fund-raisers and activities are held throughout the year to meet the needs of our Edgerton community.

Saint Michael's, Fr. Kevin's home parish in Nigeria.

On a National/International Level via mission collections, special diocesan collections for the churches of Easter Europe, the Holy Land and Catholic Relief Services, etc., we reach out to our neighbors around the world to help with food, education, medical and housing.  Also, each year in November, there is a special collection to raise money to help support Saint Michael's in Ngwoma, Nigeria.  Saint Michael's is our sister parish, arranged through our friendship with Monsignor Kevin Akagha, our previous parish administrator.  For those who wish to communicate with Msngr. Kevin his e-mail address is:  akaghakc@aol.com
